New Webmaster Tools started back in late 2001 on our personal web space as we navigated the world of starting a web page and realized how much we had to learn in order catch up enough to have a decent website.

We started learning and posting what we did to the website and how we did it. Once we had a site, we had to figure out how to get people to see it. This led to learning how to work with meta tags, page content and all the search engines. To be included in search engine indexes and directories, you need a domain name.

In 2004, we decided on the name New Webmaster Tools because of the fact we seemed to be helping more people get started with their own sites. We started looking for ways to make it easier for New Webmasters to do the building of their sites with online Tools.

In 2005, We launched our first online service to help webmasters get more traffic to their websites, NWT Traffic. We next launched the NWT Surf Center and in 2010 will be launching the NWT Search Directory. We are still helping new webmasters get started as well as seasoned webmasters maintain their sites and advertise them.

That is the basic history of New Webmaster Tools and how it became the NWT Websites.
